Participant - Due November 16th
ASB Participants can be undergraduate or graduate students. Participants play the most important role on the trip because they are the volunteers! This is your opportunity to help others and make a big difference. Here are some of the things to expect as an ASB Participant:

  • Be ready to volunteer every day of the trip
  • Stay open to new experiences
  • Keep a positive attitude
  • Follow instructions from the Site Leader and Advisor
  • Make friends
  • Have fun
  • Give back

Advisor - Due November 30th
The ASB Advisor is an employee of UCF, preferably a faculty member or student affairs professional. The focus of ASB is for students to increase their awareness of social problems through a week of intense volunteering activities and the ASB Advisor plays a crucial role in helping to ensure that this learning goal is achieved, safely and effectively. The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Facilitating the student learning process
  • Attending all scheduled Advisor training sessions and meetings
  • Managing ASB trip funds and all associated financial documentation
  • Ensuring that all University rules and regulations are observed
  • Enforcing the ASB Alcohol Policy
  • Make certain that the transport vehicle is used carefully and returned undamaged
  • Ensuring that students behave in a manner representative of UCF and The UCF CREED
  • Helping the Site Leader develop his/her leadership skills and experien

 

The Site Leader and Faculty advisor are not required to pay trip fees.
